Knotfall – Shoreline

Knotfall release “Shoreline,” the first single and centrepiece from their debut album Shoreline, out 17 April via Candlepin Records. Sami wrote the track in 2023, basically to have a song they could scream on.

“It’s about someone who encounters a mysterious otherworldly figure, and exchanges their humanity and sacrifices those around them for what they think is peace,” Sami explains. “About cowardice and depression and pain.” The song stays atmospheric and moody in the beginning before it explodes in the second half.

Recorded at Headroom Philadelphia with Janna Balagot engineering and mixing, the production keeps the mood tense before the detonation. “She knew exactly how to find the sounds and she is a wiz,” Sami says. Mark Gardener (Ride) handled mastering.

The band features Sami on drums, guitars, and vocals, Matt McMenamin on bass, and Janna Balagot on guitars.
